Areas of Research

A public corporation that brings together research institutions from the Université de Rennes 1 [University of Rennes 1] and the higher education engineering schools of INSA and Supélec, with a 250-strong staff of lecturer-researchers, engineers, PhD students and administrative personnel. IETR is renowned for its excellent range of technical capabilities that enable large-scale experiments to be carried out. As such, IETR is at the forefront of scientific research both at the national level and worldwide, and also has many ongoing contractual activities with manufacturers. Research is mainly centered around the design of new communication systems, antennae, microelectronics, radar propagation systems, and the key issues related to embedded images and remote sensing. As well as its involvement in key research themes at the heart of the information and communication society, IETR actively participates in the Images et Réseaux, iD4CAR, and Mer Bretagne business clusters.
